Joshua Walehwa brings 20 years of professional experience in the higher education and nonprofit sectors from across the United States. This includes experiences in residential life, graduate admissions, career services, academic affairs, teaching, curriculum development, college access support, and leadership development.
Josh has worked with almost every age group (K-12, undergraduate, and graduate students) in direct practice and leadership roles. Prior to this role, Josh most recently served as the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs with the Brown School. He is a past participant with the Regional Arts Commission’s Community Arts Training Institute, Focus St. Louis’s Leadership St. Louis, and is an active facilitator with LeaderShape Inc. In addition, Josh currently serves on the board for St. Louis Teacher Residency and the NAGAP – The Leader in Graduate Enrollment Management’s annual summit committee.
Josh received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Iowa in Art Education, his M.A. degree in Student Development in Postsecondary Education from the University of Iowa, and his Ph.D. degree in Education with an emphasis in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Missouri St. Louis.
